Custom Order Numbers for WooCommerce <= 1.4.0 - Cross-Site Request Forgery
Strategic Overview
<= 1.4.0CVE-2022-45367Vulnerability Overview
The Custom Order Numbers for WooCommerce plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in versions up to, and including, 1.4.0. This is due to missing nonce validation on several functions like alg_custom_order_numbers_admin_notice_dismiss, alg_custom_order_numbers_admin_meta_key_notice_dismiss, and save_order_number_meta_box to name a few. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to perform unauthorized actions like dismissing notices and reordering metaboxes via a forged request, granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link.
Technical Analysis
REMEDIATION: Update to version 1.4.1, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-352 (Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF)) The web application does not, or cannot, sufficiently verify whether a request was intentionally provided by the user who sent the request, which could have originated from an unauthorized actor.
