CP Image Store with Slideshow < 1.0.7 - Arbitrary File Download
Strategic Overview
< 1.0.7N/AVulnerability Overview
The CP Image Store with Slideshow plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to an Arbitrary File Download in versions up to, and including, 1.0.6. This is due to insufficient path validation on the 'f' parameter. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to obtain Purchase IDs, and potentially use the IDs to exploit an arbitrary file download vulnerability found in the plugin before 1.0.6.
Technical Analysis
REMEDIATION: Update to version 1.0.7, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-22 (Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal')) The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory.
