Vulnerability Overview
The Contempo Real Estate Custom Posts plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized file uploads due to a missing capability check on the ct_front_img_upload() function called via an AJAX action in versions up to, and including 3.2.6. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers with subscriber level permissions and above to upload arbitrary files to the server.

A missing authorization check means a function is reachable by anyone who can reach the endpoint, because the code never asks whether the caller is allowed to perform the action.
Any user who can reach the endpoint gets to run an action reserved for higher-privileged roles, from reading protected data to changing settings or content. For Contempo Real Estate Custom Posts the fix is 3.2.7: builds <= 3.2.6 are affected, anything from 3.2.7 onward is not.
