Vulnerability Overview

The Complianz - GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in versions up to, and including, 6.4.4. This is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on the cmplz_duplicate_cookiebanner function. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to duplicate the compliance cookie banner via a forged request granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link.

REMEDIATION: Update to version 6.4.5, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-352 (Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF)) The web application does not, or cannot, sufficiently verify whether a request was intentionally provided by the user who sent the request, which could have originated from an unauthorized actor.
