Vulnerability Overview

The Better Messages – Live Chat for WordPress, BuddyPress, PeepSo, Ultimate Member, BuddyBoss plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to missing authorization in all versions up to, and including, 2.4.32. This is due to the plugin not properly verifying if a user should have access to a chatoom. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to access chat rooms they should not have access to.

REMEDIATION: Update to version 2.4.33, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-862 (Missing Authorization) The product does not perform an authorization check when an actor attempts to access a resource or perform an action.
