BookingPress < 1.0.11 - SQL Injection
Strategic Overview
< 1.0.11CVE-2022-0739Vulnerability Overview
The BookingPress WordPress plugin before 1.0.11 fails to properly sanitize user supplied POST data before it is used in a dynamically constructed SQL query via the bookingpress_front_get_category_services AJAX action (available to unauthenticated users), leading to an unauthenticated SQL Injection.
Technical Analysis
REMEDIATION: Update to version 1.0.11, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-89 (Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an SQL Command ('SQL Injection')) The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. Without sufficient removal or quoting of SQL syntax in user-controllable inputs, the generated SQL query can cause those inputs to be interpreted as SQL instead of ordinary user data.
