Vulnerability Overview
The BCS BatchLine Book Importer plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Unauthenticated Product Import/Update in versions up to, and including, 1.5.7. This is due to improper permission checks via the wc/v3/bcsbertlinebookimport REST route. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to update existing products and add new products to the vulnerable service without the required permissions.

CWE-862: Missing Authorization
Reaching this weakness in BCS BatchLine Book Importer <= 1.5.7 takes a caller who can reach the endpoint. A missing authorization check means a function is reachable by anyone who can reach the endpoint, because the code never asks whether the caller is allowed to perform the action.
Any user who can reach the endpoint gets to run an action reserved for higher-privileged roles, from reading protected data to changing settings or content. For BCS BatchLine Book Importer the fix is 1.5.8: builds <= 1.5.7 are affected, anything from 1.5.8 onward is not.
