Vulnerability Overview

The Authorsy – Author Box, Multiple Authors, Guest Authors & Post Rating plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Insecure Direct Object Reference in all versions up to, and including, 1.0.6 due to missing validation on a user controlled key. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to perform an unauthorized action.

REMEDIATION: Update to version 1.0.7, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-639 (Authorization Bypass Through User-Controlled Key) The system's authorization functionality does not prevent one user from gaining access to another user's data or record by modifying the key value identifying the data.
