Vulnerability Overview

The 3DPrint plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in versions up to, and including, 3.5.6.9. This is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation in the tinyfilemanager.php file. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to create a backup of any file or directory on the site via a forged request granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link. File backups are stored with a predictable name (prepending a timestamp) in a known location which adds a trivial amount of complexity.

Cross-site request forgery abuses the fact that browsers attach a victim's cookies to any request, so a state-changing action that only checks who you are, not whether you meant to act, can be triggered from another site.

An attacker who gets a logged-in user to load a crafted page can perform that action as them, with the impact scaling to whatever the victim's role is allowed to do. No fixed build of this plugin is recorded for 3DPrint yet, so installs running <= 3.5.6.9 stay exposed until the vendor ships one.
