Vulnerability Overview

Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the administrator interface in WordPress before 2.8.2 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via a comment author URL.

REMEDIATION: Update to version 2.8.2, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-79 (Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting')) The product does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes user-controllable input before it is placed in output that is used as a web page that is served to other users.
