Vulnerability Overview

Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in sidebar.php in WordPress, when custom 404 pages that call get_sidebar are used, allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the query string (PHP_SELF), a different vulnerability than CVE-2007-1622.

REMEDIATION: Update to version 2.2.1, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-79 (Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting')) The product does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes user-controllable input before it is placed in output that is used as a web page that is served to other users.
